Traffic-calming with a wide clear cycle bypass - the two to the north are nearer trees and are not so clear.

Two-tier covered cycle parking at Whittlesford Parkway station - Sheffield stands are available elsewhere.

Large new cycle shed at Whittlesford Parkway station - two-tier parking, but there are Sheffield stands elsewhere

Cycle parking at the Holiday Inn Express, Whittlesford Parkway

End of shared-use route to Whittlesford Parkway station.

Shared-use route to Whittlesford Parkway station.

The north-south cycle route is fairly clear, but there's no indication that this is a shared-use route to Whittlesford Parkway station.

The farm road is even more firmly closed off now - surely it's time to remove the nonsensical Cyclists Dismount signs.

The farm road is even more firmly closed off now - surely it's time to remove the nonsensical Cyclists Dismount signs (and it's odd that there's a right-turn filter lane on the road too).

NCN 11 and the National Byway both turn left here (northbound)

Asphalt bridleway, ie a better surface than the byway to Strethall

Footpath right/bridleway left off the byway from Strethall to Elmdon

Junction of bridleway and byway, Strethall

Muddy stretch of bridleway

If only someone would sweep all the dead twigs off the bridleway....

Start of another bridleway in a thin strip of woodland

Bridleway past Strethall church

Two routes between Strethall church and the village

Strethall church - partly Saxon (not that obvious outside)

Road off NCN route 11 to Strethall church - it's not a dead end for cycles.

It's worth the detour off NCN route 11 (and it's not a dead-end for cycles)

Cyclist on NCN route 11

Bridleway section of the Icknield Way Trail - but it's really no better than a footpath. It's rideable until you meet someone coming the other way.

Bridleway section of the Icknield Way Trail - but it's really no better than a footpath and very slow going on a bike.

Farm track leading to the M11 (works/emergency access) and Great Chesterford

A longer but far easier route than the bridleway section of the Icknield Way Trail.

Bridleway section of the Icknield Way Trail continues in the trees.

Cycle (and other road) signs. Honest. Includes a new NCN11 sign. See #33033.

The signs from #33032. Could do with being rationalised (a new NCN11 sign has been tacked on the bottom) and the road sign to the station is looking rather tatty. However, they're all useless thanks to the tree that hides them!

Start of bridleway section of the Icknield Way Trail.

NCN route 11 has turned off but there are still cycle route signs - and personally I think this may be a better route to Cambridge, with a safer crossing of the A505.

Turn left behind the camera for NCN route 11 - there are arrows before and after the junction, but not actually at the turn.

National Byway sign - it would be good to have a sign for NCN route 11 too.

Slightly misleading signs on NCN route 11 - do not go up the bridleway.

Start of a not particularly useful bridleway, leading only to footpaths.

  • Icon 168675 Add pavement here - this would actually make Bramley Road a cul-de-sac with access from Glenfield Road - this would make the road along path safer and reduce cut throughs - Please add trees and flower beds
  • Icon 168669 No pavement on a very busy road no zebra crossing - both are very much needed - it is impossible for me to get across the road like a lot of disabled.
  • Icon 168587 Very narrow road, right outside a school entrance. Cars use it as a shortcut to avoid lights at Edward St/Richmond Place.
  • Icon 168586 Reduce speed limit to 30mph from Beggars Lane to Braunstone Cross Roads, cycle lanes are not fit for purpose except when for when standing traffic
  • Icon 168577 Pavement is wide enough however people always park their cars on it, despite the No Parking signs on the wall, meaning pedestrians have to walk along the road. Oddly, bollards have been added to pavements in other (much quieter) areas of this estate but not on North Side between Autumn Drive and Fall Pass where pavement parking occurs regularly each day.
  • Icon 168573 To access this path southbound, cyclists have to wait in the centre of a busy road, on a bend. No refuge. extend path to Anstey or provide safe means of access
  • Icon 168572 No improvement for pedestrian and cycle crossing here at all despite recent upgrade. crossing controls needed.
  • Icon 168571 The cycle lane surface is awful and lumpy and seems to be degrading. please can we have nice smooth paths laid by a machine?
